The Sunday Times Best Green Companies – Top 50 |

The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards is a project designed to encourage, acknowledge and publicise businesses and other organisations, which are striving to improve their environmental performance. Canon came third in the Best Big/Mid sized companies with Medium environmental impact category and 13th overall in the UK’s Top 50 companies demonstrating ‘green’ behaviour. Canon also took 3rd position for Best Green Companies in South East of the country (based on HQ locations). Judges looked at how engaged employees were with company aims and whether organisations ‘practised what they preached’. Some 77% felt Canon was doing everything it could to minimise environmental impact, whilst 84% knew what ISO14001 was – the fourth highest score out of all the companies which participated.

Canon continues to increase the number of countries in which it is No.1 (13 out of 16 European Countries recognise Canon as their most trusted brand for cameras). This year Canon beat Kodak to top position in Russia and also won in Sweden – a new country addition to the 2008 survey. Canon has consistently achieved the most trusted camera brand position in this survey for the last four years.

Top 50 Where Women Want to Work 2008 |

Canon UK & Ireland was listed in The Times 'Focus Report' supplement as qualifying in the UK TOP 50 list of organisations Where Women Want to Work, selected from organisations with more than 1,000 employess. This means we share a position in the TOP 50 alongside other big global organisations including Google, Barclays Bank, Microsoft UK, Hewlett-Packard and PepsiCo UK & Ireland.
The TOP 50 is not about organisations for women or jobs for the girls. Nor is the rise of women about the fall of men. The TOP 50 is about providing insightful information about 50 of the UK’s largest and most progressive employers. Both women and men can now research and compare organisations based on their own needs and interests before choosing where to work.

Canon came 74th out of 500 companies in the Superbrands survey 2008. The UK's strongest B2B brands for 2008 were selected by the Business Superbrands Council and thousands of individual business professionals on the YouGov panel.

The Hitwise UK Online Performance Awards celebrates the most successful UK websites in more than 50 selected industries, based on the market share of UK visits a website has received throughout 2007. During 2007, www.canon.co.uk ranked No. 2 based on the market share of visits among all UK websites in the Hitwise Computers and Internet - Electronics industry.
