The Sunday Times Best Green Companies – Top 60 |
The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards is a project designed to encourage, acknowledge and publicise businesses and other organisations which are striving to improve their environmental performance. In 2009, Canon came fourth in the "Best Big/Mid sized companies with Medium environmental impact" category and 32nd overall in the UK's Top 60 companies demonstrating 'green' behaviour. Judges looked at how engaged employees were with company aims and whether organisations 'practised what they preached'. Our workforce believes that Canon's environmental commitments are serious (89%) and Canon people believe strongly that green initiatives are not a waste of money (91%).

Top 50 Where Women Want to Work 2008 |
Canon UK & Ireland was listed in The Times 'Focus Report' supplement as qualifying for the UK TOP 50 list of organisations Where Women Want to Work, selected from organisations with more than 1,000 employees. This means we share a position in the TOP 50 alongside other big global organisations including Google, Barclays Bank, Microsoft UK, Hewlett-Packard and PepsiCo UK & Ireland.
The TOP 50 is not about organisations for women or jobs for the girls. Nor is the rise of women about the fall of men. The TOP 50 is about providing insightful information about 50 of the UK’s largest and most progressive employers. Both women and men can now research and compare organisations based on their own needs and interests before choosing where to work.
