The Canon Foundation

The Canon Foundation was established at our European headquarters in 1987 to mark our 50th anniversary worldwide. Its purpose is to enhance cultural and scientific relations between Japan and Europe, supporting our corporate philosophy of Kyosei, ‘living and working together for the common good’.

Each year the foundation awards funding to 15 post graduate students or researchers, enabling individuals from Europe to study in Japan and vice versa for up to a year. This provides participants with a unique chance to exchange skills and expertise while promoting mutual understanding between nations.

Canon Foundation Awards may be granted to outstanding individuals in academia, government and professional organisations and are allocated regardless of discipline or existing employment positions.

For further information, please contact the Secretariat of The Canon Foundation in Canon Europa NV, The Netherlands.
