Comment from a Canon UK employee.
It may seem unrealistic for a company to want to change the world but a multinational company the size of Canon can hardly avoid it. In the last twenty years, for example, we have produced 10 million personal copiers. Imagine the environmental impact of
irresponsible production processes and you begin to see the scale of our responsibility. This is why we have a corporate philosophy - guiding principles that govern the way we carry out our business activities - so that, by remaining focussed, we have a positive impact on the future. As a global company with this philosophy at our heart, we work to realise our vision - that all people, regardless of race, religion or culture, can live and work together in harmony. This means taking responsibility for
the impact of our activities, respecting our customers, the communities and countries we operate within, as well as our natural environment. The Japanese have a word for it, 'Kyosei', which means living and working together for the common good. It embodies our goal of contributing to the prosperity of the world and the happiness of humanity.
