Performance Management


The performance management process is a way of ensuring that our employees have clear objectives and personal development plans to ensure that Canon as a business achieves growth and profitability.

Regular reviews
At Canon, we encourage employees to engage in performance review discussions with their manager.  This forum provides a platform to learn from past experiences, identify any specific training needs and compile a personal development plan to move their career at Canon forward in the most effective way. 

The feedback process
Employees are encouraged to seek feedback from their colleagues and managers as this forms the basis of their performance reviews.  The 360 degree feedback process has been adopted since it offers a fair and rounded opinion of an individual's performance.

The mid-year and year-end reviews are key dates in the Canon calendar for employees and the business as they allow time to review how effectively we are working as an organisation.

Recognition and reward
Employees are recognised for outstanding performance either through financial reward as part of a half-yearly bonus scheme or through the
3 Selfs Awards scheme which encourages recognition of outstanding performance by colleagues.
