United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland 20 August, 2007:Canon Europe today announced the launch of two new standalone laser fax models – the top-of-the-range FAX-L3000IP and sister model the FAX-L3000, which replace the FAX-L2000 and FAX-L2000IP respectively.

Designed for large corporate environments with dedicated fax requirements, the FAX-L3000IP and FAX-L3000 offer high speed Super G3 fax and copy functionality in two durable, robust units. A large paper capacity and high speed Duplex ADF allow each model to easily handle high workloads. In addition, the FAX-L3000IP incorporates print functionality, a built-in network interface with PCL support, and an optional upgrade offering full SEND functionality. The FAX-L3000 offers optional networking and print functionality.

Productive Faxing
For fast ultra-efficient delivery of documents, the FAX-L3000IP and FAX-L3000 incorporate Super G3 faxing at 33.6 Kbps, with rapid duplex scanning speeds of 45ipm and 37ipm respectively. The addition of 80 speed dials and either 200 or 500(3) coded dials further enhance productivity, while Canon’s UHQ system uses 256 separate grayscales to preserve ultra-fine levels of detail in important images.

Robust and Reliable
Both models are specifically designed for heavy departmental workloads, combining a durable design with a total paper capacity of 1100 sheets(2). Total peace of mind is assured by a 3 hour memory back-up and large page memories of up to 1500 pages3 on each model. A high-speed 50 page duplex Auto Document Feeder (ADF) ensures that double-sided documents can be copied or sent with maximum efficiency.

Copy and Print
The FAX-L3000IP and FAX-L3000 double as high-output monochrome copiers, capable of scanning documents in sizes up to A3 and A4 respectively. Featuring On-Demand Fixing for ultra-fast response times, both models offer copy speeds of up to 22cpm – and can be used with the 50 page duplex ADF for fast double-sided copying.

The FAX-L3000IP also incorporates high-volume printing functionality. Producing rapid monochrome prints of up to 1200x600dpi at 22ppm, its networking capabilities include full PCL support – making it an ideal departmental or workgroup printer. For particularly large print jobs, or where paper needs to be conserved, double-sided duplex printing is also possible.

With the addition of Canon’s optional Print Kit, the FAX-L3000 can also be used as a high-quality network printer.

Network Capabilities
The FAX-L3000IP features an integrated Network Interface port, which allows users to share network printing and PC faxing functionalities. Canon’s Remote User Interface offers easy management of device settings and print jobs through an internet browser – ensuring maximum convenience for administrators and end-users alike.

The optional Print Kit for the FAX-L3000 adds network print, PC fax and RUI functionality.

Optional SEND Functionality (FAX-L3000IP only)
Using technology inherited from Canon’s iR models, the optional SEND kit transforms the FAX-L3000IP into a central communication hub for sharing office documents digitally, further boosting efficiency and productivity. Users can scan colour documents direct to email, Network Server (SMB and FTP) or Internet Fax. Fax forwarding allows automatic or conditional forwarding of faxes to other destinations. With the optional SEND Kit, FAX-L3000IP is also compatible with Canon’s E-maintenance service – offering remote diagnostics and minimising the risk of machine downtime.

Superior Security
Canon’s security systems make the FAX-L3000IP and FAX-L3000 ideal for use in a shared working environment. A System Admin ID allows exclusive access to device settings, ensuring that the integrity of settings cannot be tampered with. Individual access to machine functionality can be controlled with Department ID and User ID management, which also allows monitoring of costs to ensure responsible usage.

Efficient and Economic
Using Canon’s AIO Cartridge 714, the FAX-L3000IP and FAX-L3000 feature impressive page yields of 4500 pages at 5% coverage. Energy Save mode consumes as little as 3 watts thanks to On-Demand fixing, which also provides instant warm-up and zero waiting-time.
