Enhanced FINE technology Canon’s evolution of FINE technology continues, with both models delivering significant increases on print speeds – 4x6cm borderless photo prints are delivered in 46 seconds, 6 seconds faster than their predecessors. The FINE print head employs
Micro-Nozzles to dispense droplets as small as 2pl, allowing the MP210 and MP220 to deliver photo lab quality prints to a maximum resolution of 4800x1200dpi. Canon’s ChromaLife100 system ensures print longevity of up to 100 years when stored in an
album. Improved copying technologies Both models make use of Canon’s Dual Colour Gamut Processing Technology, which has been improved for even more faithful reproduction of colours in photocopied documents and photos. The system uses two separate forms of colour rendering to
reproduce tones that meet accurately with human perception – ensuring both enhanced colour reproduction and superior text legibility in first and second generation copies. This technology is complemented by high copying speeds of up to 22 copies per
minute (cpm) for mono pages and 17cpm for colour pages. Auto Image Fix Canon’s new Auto Image Fix function automatically identifies and corrects flaws in photos before printing. Using Face Detection and Scene Analysis technology, it optimises key areas in a photo: colour fogging and exposure, face tone and
brightness, and scene-based tone, contrast and saturation.
Auto Image Fix is accessed via the supplied MP Navigator EX and Easy-PhotoPrint software. The technology is also integrated into the MP220, for use when printing direct from memory card. Quick Start Improved technologies give the MP210 and MP220 a significantly faster start-up time than their predecessors. Previous models required approximately 30 seconds after being switched on before users could begin using the keypad. Now, the MP210 and
MP220 can be programmed to make a copy after 2 to 4 seconds. Direct Printing With the MP210 and MP220, computer-free printing is simple. Both models feature PictBridge compatibility, allowing users to print directly from any compatible digital camera. In addition, the MP220 features a memory card slot for direct printing
from most popular memory card formats.
To assist users printing from memory cards, the MP220 can also produce a Photo Index Sheet – a printout showing thumbnails of all images on the card. Users mark the images they wish to print, scan the sheet, and the MP220 will print the selected
images.
