CPS Video – the support program for professional Canon HD users

United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 10 April, 2008: Canon announces the launch of CPS (Canon Professional Service) Video – a new and comprehensive free support program for cameramen who own and work with either the XL H1S, XL H1A, XL H1 or XH G1 camcorders.

With a full range of High Definition camcorders available  – from models that offer full broadcast connectivity and an interchangeable lens system to extremely portable, handheld models – Canon users can choose the system that best suits their needs: from studio-based productions and ENG (Electronic News Gathering) work, to indie filmmaking. And now, the CPS Video service allows Canon to support every kind of professional, underlining the company’s commitment to supporting the professional community.

In particular, the guarantee of a fast turnaround repair service – or, alternatively, the offer of a free replacement loan model in circumstances when repairs take longer – gives working cameraman peace of mind: even if they damage their equipment, projects can continue with minimal interruption.

“With the recent introduction of the XL H1S and XL H1A, we can now offer an integrated and versatile range of camcorders to professional users,” said Karel Poortman, European Pro Video Specialist. “Underlining our commitment to this market, I’m delighted that our new CPS Video membership program offers professional customers the level of support they need to help them do their job.”

CPS Video offers:
• Special priority repair service: damaged products will be returned to CPS video members within six days of receipt at an accredited Canon Service Centre
• Free loans: if repairs take longer than six days, a free like-for-like camcorder will be loaned to the user for the duration of the repair period
• Email support: CPS Video members have direct access to a qualified Canon Pro Rep, allowing them to get quick answers to non-repair related questions about their camcorder
• Phone support: CPS Video members can also take advantage of Pro Reps’ expertise via a dedicated telephone hotline

Information about Canon’s professional HD range can be found on the CPN (Canon Professional Network) website. An engaging and informative online portal for professional users, new CPN Video not only provides full product details, but also technical information, behind the scenes interviews with Canon HD profesionals, and other tips and tricks to help users get to know their camcorders.

CPN Video is accessible to anyone – not just CPS Video members – as is an invaluable source for current and prospective Canon HD users : www.canon-europe.com/cpn
