Canon has today extended its ‘Green’ series of calculators, underlining the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The two new printing calculators are the first of their kind to be produced using recycled materials from Canon copiers, and follow on from the highly successful Green display calculators launched in January 2008. Canon first established its environmental sustainability program, ‘Kyosei’, in 1988, and since then has implemented a range of measures aimed at achieving a more sustainable manufacturing program. The original Green series of display calculators includes two desktop and one handheld model that use 100% recyclable materials from Canon copiers to make up their front and back covers, and has been a success with consumers. Building on this first generation of Green calculators, Canon has added two new printing models to the range. The MP120-MG and MP121-MG use 100% recycled materials for their back covers, as well as for other smaller components throughout the calculators. “Canon has always sought to harmonise environmental interests with business needs, and this extension to our series of Green calculators highlights the fact our commitment is as strong as ever,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. The MP120-MG and MP121-MG will be positioned as office calculators and replace the current MP120-LTS and MP121-DTS, respectively. Ideal for both large corporations with Green procurement policies and environmentally conscious small home office users, the new calculators feature business functions (cost, sell, margin) as well as tax calculation and a currency converter. The MP120-MG has also been updated to include a clock and calendar function. Pricing & Availability The MP120-MG is available from November 2008 priced at £59.77 / €79.88 RRP inc. VAT.
