High quality desktop colour laser printing – perfect for small and personal offices

United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 26 August, 2008: Canon today announces two new i-SENSYS colour laser printers for personal and small offices: LBP5050n and LBP5050. Combining superb quality colour output with fast print speeds, both represent excellent value and introduce surprisingly compact designs. LBP5050 is suited to the personal office; the network-ready LBP5050n is perfect for multiple users who need to share functionality in a small business environment.

Canon’s i-SENSYS colour printing technologies deliver outstanding professional quality prints and graphics. Benefiting from a new 4D horizontal in-line engine, new space-saving designs – with extremely low profiles – allow even the smallest office to accommodate either printer. Canon’s Quick First Print technologies ensure there is no waiting around for prints, even from sleep mode.

LBP5050n and LBP5050 feature:

§         i-SENSYS colour technologies, including new 4D in-line horizontal engine, for professional-quality prints and outstanding graphics

§         Compact and stylish design

§         No waiting with Quick First-Print performance: zero warm-up time from sleep mode

§         Up to 8 ppm (colour) or 12 ppm (mono)

§         Up to 9600 x 600 dpi printing with Automatic Image Refinement (AIR)

§         Network ready (LBP5050n)

§         Efficient and energy saving: only 7 watts in sleep mode

§         Quiet operation and silent in standby mode

§         Maintenance-free All-in-One colour cartridges

Pricing & Availability

The i-SENSYS LBP5050n is available from October 2008 priced at £209.00 / €271.25 RRP inc. VAT.

The i-SENSYS LBP5050 is available from October 2008 priced at £189.00 / €245.30 RRP inc. VAT

Outstanding colour

Both the LBP5050n and LBP5050 offer superb colour quality in a compact and stylish design – all thanks to Canon i-SENSYS colour technologies. A new 4D in-line engine ensures high quality colour printing at speed – with four colour All-in-One cartridges positioned in sequence, four colours are laid onto the paper in just a single pass. Automatic Image Refinement (AIR) provides the ultimate in fine detail with up to 9600 x 600 dpi enhanced print resolution.

Canon’s On-Demand Fixing technology ensures zero warm-up time and no waiting – consuming up to 75% less energy than conventional fixing systems employed by some laser printers.

Superior quality with speed – and a new style

Introducing a fresh style to the i-SENSYS range, the LBP5050n and LBP5050 have a new, low profile design. Both are comparable in size to a mono laser printer –measuring just 399 x 453 x 262 mm – largely thanks to the compact, horizontal 4D engine. Since the engine is fanless, it provides silent operation in standby mode, making these printers perfect desktop partners.

Ease-of-use

All consumable parts are contained in four easy-to-change All-In-One colour cartridges, ensuring continuous high quality output and minimal maintenance requirements – key parts subject to wear and tear are replaced each time the cartridges are changed.

The LBP5050n is supplied with a built-in network card – ready to go for small offices with multiple users.
