REIGATE, September 4th, 2008 - Canon UK, world leader in imaging solutions, and Kofax plc, the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange Solutions, have today announced that Kofax’s VirtualReScan (VRS) software will now be available as an option on the Canon imageFORMULA DR-X10C scanner, enabling users to enhance the quality of their scanned images and save time spent manually preparing and re-scanning documents.

The DR-X10C delivers high-speed, high-quality and reliable colour scanning to the corporate environment, as well as large business units and scanning bureaus, with a recommended daily duty cycle of up to 60,000 scans every day. The option of VRS Professional gives users the ability to capture the best possible image quality by straightening and cleaning each image, and automatically applying the most suitable processing features with every scan. Such advanced imaging provides accurately scanned images and documents, and improves the performance of optical character and handwriting recognition software.
 
VRS Professional saves processing time and allows business processes to be more productive. Automated imaging features such as auto-text orientation and auto-size detection reduces the time spent manually preparing documents.
 
VRS Professional will be provided through the new VRS Hardware controller board (CGA Board) thereby ensuring high processing speeds are maintained while VRS delivers the highest quality of scanned images.
