Latest version of Therefore™ bolsters security with ability to identify which users have accessed, edited and printed specific documents Therefore™ is NetApp SnapLock certified to offer powerful and secure data retention and promote corporate compliance
Therefore™ is a document management solution that enables users to capture, archive, search and retrieve information quickly and securely, achieving productivity and cost savings. The new version enables administrators to identify which users have accessed, edited and printed specific documents with its Audit Trail feature, bolstering document security. Administrators can also view a user’s complete document trail, as well as managing who can access and edit particular documents on the system.
The latest version of Therefore™ is also certified with NetApp SnapLock, a market-leading storage and compliance software, to provide a robust solution for organisations’ data retention needs.
Andy Mackay, Solutions Marketing Manager, Canon UK, comments, “Traditional data retention tools will destroy data after a pre-determined time, but there is no guarantee that backed-up copies of files will be erased. This means that companies may unwittingly retain copies of sensitive customer, client or general business data, contravening laws on data retention and exposing businesses to sizeable sanctions and fines. Therefore™ ensures that all copies and versions of a file are deleted after a specified amount of time has passed.”
NetApp SnapLock certification ensures that files on the Therefore™ system as well as all Write Once Read Many (WORM) files that have been securely archived are deleted once their retention period has passed in line with legislation or corporate policy.
Andy Mackay continues, “The document lifecycle does not end at the printer or at the point of archiving. Businesses have a legal responsibility to appropriately and securely delete specific information.”
The latest version of Therefore™ is fully integrated with Canon’s next generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE print platform, existing iR range devices and DR scanners, and is now available across Western European markets.
