Setting creative standards: the new Canon LEGRIA HV40

LEGRIA HV40
United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 05 January, 2009: Canon announces a new addition to its High Definition Video (HDV) camcorder range: the LEGRIA HV40. Recording HDV1080i images to tape, the LEGRIA HV40 is the successor to the HV30 – named ‘European HD Camcorder’ of the year in 2008 by the prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

The latest evolution of Canon’s popular HV-series, the LEGRIA HV40 offers users greater creative control over their movies. A new Custom Key allows a range of different functions to be assigned to the manual Control Dial, located at the front of the camcorder. For enthusiastic moviemakers, as well as those looking to upgrade to HD for the first time, the HDV format integrates seamlessly with existing workflows – offering compatibility with virtually every video editing software package.

“The new LEGRIA HV40 raises the bar for ambitious moviemakers, giving them even more control,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, Europe. “With this new camcorder, we demonstrate our commitment to creatives and video enthusiasts across Europe.”
