Canon achieves place in The Times Where Women Want to Work Top 50

Where Women Want to Work 2009
LONDON, 7th October 2009 - Canon, world-leader in imaging solutions, has been recognised for the third successive year for its equal opportunity and diversity policies by achieving a place in The Times’ Where Women Want to Work Top 50.

The 2009 study, undertaken by Aurora for The Times, invites organisations with more than 1,000 employees in the UK to submit detailed information on three key areas: how they effectively recruit top female talent, how they retain and develop female employees, and some examples of successful female role models.

"We are delighted to achieve a place in The Times’ Where Women Want to Work Top 50 for the third consecutive year," said Caroline Price, HR Director, Canon Europe and Canon UK and Ireland. "We have worked hard as an organisation to communicate our vision to our employees through our diversity policies, ensuring that all employees have a sense of ownership and responsibility for diversity. Canon has also focused on developing its Employer Branding strategy external to the organisation, at a local and national level, through partnerships with charities and schools.

"Equal opportunities and diversity are part of the Canon way of working, which is captured very strongly within Canon’s Kyosei philosophy and we firmly believe that it’s not just something you say, it’s something you do," continued Price.
