Canon finalist at Green Business Awards 2009

The Green Business Awards - also known as the "Green Globes" - are one of the most prestigious benchmarks of environmental excellence for companies in the UK. The aim of the awards is to discover and recognise the most innovative, ambitious and effective initiatives by UK business for achieving environmental sustainability, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and implementing green business practices.

Canon entered the awards for the first time in 2009 in the 'Overall Environmental Management' (250+ employees) category and achieved a 'Finalist' position in recognition of our environmental management system processes and achievements, in managing our environmental impacts and our commitment towards reducing our overall carbon emissions.

The awards attracted a very high quality of entries from across the country with a total of 129 companies entering.  The awards were judged by an independent panel made up of environmental and communicaton leaders and managing directors from a wide range of organisations.
