ACTIVboard

ACTIVstudio

ACTIVstudio software transforms the ACTIVboard into a powerful group teaching system, distinguishing it from mere presentation aids. ACTIVstudio is designed specifically for classroom teachers and trainers, much of its feature set being derived from user feedback. It is intuitive, utilising the natural advantages of pen operation. ACTIVstudio's array of features offers a direct substitution of traditional presentation devices such as OHP/accetates, flipcharts and slide projectors, neatly integrated under the control of a single pen.

At the simplest level ACTIVstudio's flipchart exactly simulates working with a dry wipe marker or chalk board, with the extra ability to use multiple colours and variable line thicknesses. ACTIVstudio also controls delivery of both web and other digital resources from the PC, enabling material to be enhanced with annotations, highlighting and special effects. Flipchart content can be created or retrieved from disk, adding to versatility and spontaneity. ACTIVstudios toolbox can be custom configured to enable each user to work comfortably at their individual level of ICT competence.

ACTIVslate

The ACTIVslate is designed to be (and can ONLY be) used in conjunction with a Promethean ACTIVboard. Communication between the two devices takes place via infrared signals. You can use several ACTIVslates with a single ACTIVboard however since the ACTIVslate takes over control of the operating system you can only use one ACTIVslate at a time. The ACTIVslate allows your audience to participate in your presentation, you can give control over to members of your presentation group. They may then interact with your presentation by using the Epen to move the mouse cursor just as if they were using the Epen at the ACTIVboard surface. You, as the presenter, are in complete control over which ACTIVslate (if any) has control of the board.

ACTIVote

ACTIVote, the latest addition to the ACTIVboard family, is a revolutionary tool, which brings ultimate interactivity to the classroom. A complete wireless response system of hand held voting keypads with analysis software, designed to promote further pupil interactivity. Providing teachers with instant feedback on what pupils do and don't understand. Lessons using ACTIVote facilitate collaborative learning through promoting teamwork. The instant feedback means teachers can streamline marking in a matter of seconds - making it paperless and painless.

Activeprep-pad

This small (A6) graphics tablet is another extremely flexible peripheral with a multiplicity of uses. Its ability to support menu-selection, drawing and writing cannot be matched by mouse or keyboard. In addition, Promethean has integrated the ACTIVprep-pad with the same software tools (ACTIVstudio) as are offered with the interactive whiteboard. This enables the teacher/presenter to use the light and transportable tablet for off-line preparation work prior to using the ACTIVboard for the group session.
