A powerful 8x optical zoom lets you home in on details of far away objects or fit more in the frame with the 28mm wide-angle lens for great group shots and landscapes. Intelligent IS automatically adjusts the optical Image Stabilizer to the scene from 7 modes to prevent blur and deliver sharp and detailed photos and videos.
HS System
HS System excels in low light allowing you to capture the real atmosphere of the moment without flash or tripod. A high performance DIGIC 4 processor and high sensitivity sensor combine to give superior image quality in all situations.

7.5 cm (3.0") PureColor II G LCD
A large, high quality 460k dot LCD screen allows easy framing and reviewing of images from any angle and effortless menu navigation. A tempered glass outer layer gives excellent durability.
Full HD movies, Powered IS
Create Full HD (1080p) movies with stereo sound you’ll be proud to share. Use the optical zoom to get close to the action while the optical Image Stabilizer keeps your movies steady. A dedicated movie button lets you switch instantly from stills to movie mode; an HDMI-CEC connector allows easy playback on an HDTV.
Smart Auto
Effortlessly shoot high quality photos or movies with Smart Auto, which detects the scene and selects the perfect settings from 32 variables (21 in movie). All you have to do is point and shoot.
High-speed Burst. Super Slow Motion Movie
High-speed Burst delivers non-stop photo shooting, capturing 8.7 shots per second (3.0 MP), so you never miss a thing. Super Slow Motion Movie slows fast-paced action up to an 1/8th of the real speed.
iFrame movie (720p). Movie Digest
Shoot PC and Mac friendly HD video (720p) in the optimised Apple iFrame format for fast importing, easy editing and simple sharing. Movie Digest records up to 4-seconds of action before each still shot, joining the day’s clips into a bonus VGA movie.
