DVD-R Dual Layer for extended recording
Canon’s second generation DVD camcorders are compatible with a wider range of DVD formats, giving you even more freedom to shoot. Compatible disc formats now include DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-R DL: the very latest, cutting-edge Dual Layer disc technology. DVD-R DL works by fitting two recording layers onto one side of a disc. So, while a normal DVD-R disc has 1.4GB capacity, DVD-R DL offers nearly double the amount of space – an impressive 2.66GB. With more space to store the video you shoot, these
discs offer longer recording times. Up to 108 minutes of video fit onto a single DL disc when the camcorder is set to record at its most efficient quality setting.
