Canon's latest and smallest Mini DV Camcorder with DV In, Analogue In and also Analogue Digital Converter.
The compact design of the MV5i models has been achieved through the use of advanced new components combining a brand new 10x zoom lens with 1/6-inch type 800,000-pixel CCD capability, a newly developed camera signal processing LSI and compact battery. The ultra small size of this camcorder provides excellent mobility while the advanced digital technology delivers outstanding quality out put for digital editing.

Small but packed with features
The MV5i is a sophisticated and slim digital camera that packs a lot of features into its small size. By lowering the shoulder to accommodate the LCD and using a compact battery, the MV5 series feels smaller than previous models the advanced LCD monitor is also easier—and more fun—to use because of bit map displays that can be understood intuitively.

Analogue-digital converter
An analogue-digital converter allows analogue images to be converted directly into digital images without the need to record onto digital tape first. Images previously recorded with an 8mm video camera, a TV signal or any analogue image signal can now be storied directly onto a PC without first recording onto a Mini DV tape. This function also allows images and data to be digitally stored with media such as DVD-RAM and DVD-RW.

Effects and Features


In addition to the conventional digital effects, the MV5i offers a variety of digital effects such as those available with PC editing. Now users have more opportunity to show their creativity with the 9 new digital effects (flip, tide, puzzle, etc.) as well as a range of colour tones from sepia to black and white and multi image screen.

As all (DV, AV, LANC, USB, MIC, DC and S video) terminals are located on the camera body, the new MV5i has no need for a docking unit as with previous models.

Audio Dubbing


The MV5i also has an Audio dubbing feature, which allows the user to add new sound to the original recorded sound or replace original sound in images onto a pre-recorded tape.

Programmed Auto Exposure (AE)


By selecting the shooting modes that best suits the scene, the MV5i adjusts internal controls to create the perfect video each time. Mode choices are Auto, Sports, Portrait, Sand and Snow, and Low Light as well as the new Night Mode.

Night Mode


Another exciting feature in the MV5i is Night Mode, which makes it possible to create high quality images no matter what the lighting conditions are.

Video Editing Software


The new MV5i is bundled with the award winning editing Pinnacle Studio 7SE software which enables the easy creation of movies.

Accessories


A Wide-converter WD-28, a Tele-converter TL-28 and new Filter set FS-28U has been newly designed for the MV5 series of camcorders. These accessories further expand the superb quality and high image resolution of movie as well as still picture shooting performance.
