Powerful 35x optical zoom
Whether you’re a long way from fast-moving action, or just want to get that detailed close-up, the MD160’s precision 35x optical zoom lens helps you get the shot. Move even closer by switching on the camcorder’s 1000x digital zoom. The camcorder’s Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) acts to reduce camera shake even when you’re at the maximum of the zoom.

True widescreen Megapixel CCD
The MD160 puts panoramic widescreen recording into your hands. Capture high resolution movies in true 16:9 format via a Megapixel CCD.

Widescreen LCD and EVF
Compose and review your widescreen movies using the 2.7" 16:9 LCD or 0.35" widescreen colour EVF (Electronic Viewfinder).

Start shooting straight away
There’s no need to stand around waiting for your camcorder. The MD160’s Quick Start lets you begin recording almost immediately.

DV input
DV input lets you transfer edited movies from your PC back to digital tape. Camcorder-to-camcorder recording is also possible.

Shooting made easy
If you want shooting simplicity, engage the camcorder’s Easy shooting mode and take the hassle out of recording. A joystick controller makes it straightforward to find and activate the menu controls you need. Alternatively, control the MD160 via the supplied wireless remote.

Videos and photos with DIGIC DV technology
DIGIC DV image processing brings your movies and still images to life. Record bright, vibrant colours even when video and photos are captured simultaneously.

Capture to SDHC and SD cards
Store even more photos on an SDHC (High Capacity) memory card or even capture short low resolution video clips that are perfect for the internet and sending by email. The camcorder is also compatible with standard SD cards.
