High Image Quality
The innovative technology that goes into the IXUS 400 incorporates a 4.0 Mega Pixel CCD for high resolution results every time.

Optical Zoom Lens
The IXUS 400 features a highly compact and sharp 3 x optical zoom lens and also features a smooth digital 11x zoom with a focal length of 36-108mm for perfect close-ups. The IXUS 400 has several shooting modes – Auto, Manual (Program), Stitch Assist and Movie (with sound) which can be selected from a mode dial on the camera.

Movie Recording
More than just a still camera, the IXUS 400 is also capable of recording voice-tags of up to 60 seconds to accompany each image, and can even capture movie clips of up to three minutes, complete with sound.

Nine Point Auto Focus
Using state of the art Canon technology, the IXUS 400 features a nine-point AiAF (Artificial intelligence Auto Focus) system that can automatically detect a subject, even if they are not in the centre of the frame.

DIGIC Processor
The IXUS 400 incorporates the exclusive Canon DIGIC processor for even better colour reproduction. DIGIC stands for DIGital Imaging Core and is at the heart of the camera working at incredibly high speeds for much better colour rendition.

iSAPS
iSAPS (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) has been developed for the creation of a natural looking scene reproducing colours exactly as seen by the photographer.

Easy Picture Transfer
The IXUS 400 supports PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). This standard protocol allows driver-less image communications with computers when combined with recent operating systems. This means the correct drivers will be automatically selected without the need to install them.

Direct Print
The IXUS 400 supports Canon’s Direct Print system, which allows easy, high-quality printing by simply connecting the camera via a cable to a CP-100 Card Photo printer or to the range of bubble jet direct printers.
