9-point AiAF
AiAF (Artificial Intelligence Auto Focus) automatically locates the closest subject in your photograph – even when it’s off-centre – and gives optimal focus to that area. With up to 9 points available, photos will have pin-sharp clarity whatever your composition.

FlexiZone AF/AE
FlexiZone AF/AE control gives you complete focusing flexibility. You manually select the focus point from almost anywhere in the frame by moving the auto focus window in the viewfinder. For even greater control, you can measure exposure at your chosen auto focus point or the central area of your shot.

Focusing Precision
AF Frame Size Selection enables you to toggle between regular and small size AF frames. The small AF frame gives you the opportunity to achieve precise focus when taking close-up and macro shots. Flexizone AF/AE can be applied when using the small frame size. The PowerShot G9 also allows the ‘small’ AF frame size to be used in 9-point AiAF.

Macro magic
A Macro mode is available on all models for sharp, close-up images of tiny objects.  Super Macro mode on selected models allows you to optically zoom in on subjects as close as 0cm, while maintaining focus.
