Bright f/1.8-2.8, 28mm, 5x zoom Canon lens
A bright f/1.8-2.8 Canon lens with wide maximum aperture lets you shoot in very low light and at high shutter speeds even when zooming in. Framing is easy with a flexible 28mm, 5x optical zoom or up to 10x with ZoomPlus.
12.1 MP CMOS; HS System with DIGIC 5
HS System is a powerful combination of a high-sensitivity 12.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor (1/1.7 type) and DIGIC 5 processor. It lets you to shoot in low light with reduced noise and superb image quality up to ISO 12,800 - reducing the need for flash or tripod.
4-stop Intelligent IS
A 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer with Intelligent IS automatically selects the optimum stabilisation mode from 7 settings to counteract camera shake and ensure sharp, detailed images.
7.5 cm (3.0") LCD, OVF
The large PureColor II G high resolution LCD (920k dots) offers superb colour and contrast. An optical viewfinder lets you compose using your own shooting style.
Expert Control
A Front Dial provides easy access to various settings during shooting. Shoot in Full Manual mode in RAW format with multi aspect shooting support, for maximum control over composition and post-shot editing using the supplied Digital Photo Professional software. A Dual Axis Electronic Level display helps achieve shots with a straight and perfectly levelled horizon.
Full HD Movies, HDMI-CEC
Record Full HD (1080p) movies in stereo with optical zoom. An HDMI-CEC connection allows for loss-less playback on a compatible HDTV.
Quick Auto Focus, High-speed Burst HQ
High-speed Auto Focus captures any subject with beautifully clear and sharp detail while High-speed Burst HQ catches fast action with 10 fps in full resolution.
High Dynamic Range mode
In high contrast scenes, some cameras can struggle to capture detail in shadows and highlights. Using a tripod, High Dynamic Range mode takes multiple exposures of the same scene, combining them in-camera for a detailed high contrast image.
Smart Auto and Face ID
Smart Auto selects camera settings for you from 58 different scenes (21 in movies) for optimum results. It also works with faces stored in Face ID and adapts settings according to registered age – such as turning off flash and sounds when a sleeping baby is detected.
Range of accessories
Accessories include a 58mm Lens Filter Adapter, Canon Speedlite flashes and a Waterproof Case for shooting underwater in depths down to 40m.
