High Image Quality
The pocket-sized PowerShot S50 incorporates a high resolution 5.0 effective mega pixels and features a highly compact and sharp 3 x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 35-105mm (35mm equivalent). The lens features a maximum aperture of f2.8 (wide angle) to f4.9 (telephoto).

RAW mode
RAW mode allows you to obtain original image data, recording the image direct from the CCD without any image processing. With RAW mode images, you can alter and set the parameters of image before saving it or transferring it to your PC.

Shooting Modes
The PowerShot S50 has 13 shooting modes, which can be selected from a mode dial on the top of the camera, including full manual controls, and a ‘Custom’ mode enabling you to set and save the camera parameters.

Modes include Custom, Manual, Av, Tv, Program, Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Fast shutter, Slow Shutter, Stitch Assist and Movie.

Selectable Focusing Points
è 9-Point AiAF (represented by a 3 x 3 matrix)
è FlexiZone AF/AE
è Manual Focus
è AEB / Focus Bracketing

Exposure Modes
The perfect exposure mode can be selected using Centre weighted average, Evaluative, or Spot.

Continuous Shooting Modes
The ‘speed priority’ mode is ideal for shooting a number of top quality shots at high speed, perfect for action pictures. For a large number of shots at a slower speed, the PowerShot S50 offers the alternative ‘quantity priority’ mode.

Intelligent Orientation Sensor
A new tiny sensor has been built-in to detect the orientation of the camera. A small camera icon shown in the shooting window indicates whether you are in Portrait or Landscape.

DIGIC Processor
The new PowerShot S50 incorporates the exclusive Canon DIGIC processor for even better colour reproduction. DIGIC stands for DIGital Imaging Core and is at the heart of the camera working at incredibly high speeds for much better colour rendition.

ISAPS
iSAPS (intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) has been developed for the creation of a natural looking scene reproducing colours exactly as seen by the photographer.

Easy Picture Transfer
The PowerShot S50 supports PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). This standard protocol allows driver-less image communications with computers when combined with recent operating systems. This means the correct drivers will be automatically selected without the need to install them.

Direct Print
The PowerShot S50 is equipped with Direct Print printers. Simply connect the camera to the printer, select an image and in a few moments a perfect print is made.
