EF Lenses
The EOS 30D is backed up by the world's most comprehensive system of interchangeable lenses. A system that's also the world's most popular – in less than 20 years since the launch of EOS, more than 30 million EF lenses have been produced.

From 14mm wide-angle to 600mm super telephoto, the 60+ lenses in the EF series cover all possible shooting requirements. And every lens in the series is compatible with the EOS 30D.

EF-S series
The compact sensor on the EOS 30D, 20D, 350D and 300D adds a useful 1.6x magnification effect to the focal length of EF lenses. To increase the wide angle options for these cameras, Canon developed the purpose built EF-S series. Specifically designed to work only with Canon's compact sensor D-SLRs, wide angle EF-S lenses are also lighter than most EF lenses of equivalent focal length and aperture.

With a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range and 3-stop Image Stabilizer, the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM complements the EOS 30D's low light capabilities. Its 27-88mm (35mm equivalent) focal length makes it ideal for shooting landscape photography. An optional lens hood shades the lens in bright or glary conditions, eliminating flare and improving image contrast.
