FINE is Canon’s unique printing technology at the heart of every PIXMA printer. It enables fast photo printing and superb photo lab quality thanks to microscopic ink droplets and precise ink placement.

Hybrid Ink System

Crisp text and vibrant colours through a combination of inks

For superior colour reproduction in graphics and crisp text in documents, many PIXMA printers use dye colour and pigment black inks. Dye inks are used for exceptional quality photo prints with vivid colours, while black pigment inks produce crisp, clear prints of small letters and sharp lines.

ChromaLife Inks

Print beautiful, long lasting photos at home

A combination of genuine Canon ink and Canon photo papers provides more vibrant and beautiful photos and preserves memories for a lifetime. By printing with ChromaLife100 inks, your photos will benefit by resisting colour fading for longer. With the ChromaLife100+ system, there are greater enhancements in colour reproduction and a deeper black for more vivid photos.

FINE Cartridges or Single Ink Tanks

To maximise both efficiency and ease of use and to meet a diverse range of printing needs Canon has developed two complementary inks systems, Single Inks and FINE Cartridge. Which one is right for you?

Printers using FINE Cartridge systems give you maximum convenience and speed with only two cartridges to replace, Colour and Black.

Printers with Single Ink system optimise ink efficiency. To minimise wastage, each ink colour has its own individually replaceable tank - so you only replace individual colours as they run out.
