  • Aligning the print head from the operation panel

    Follow the procedure below to align the print head from the operation panel:

    1. Load letter- or A4-size plain paper in the multi-purpose tray.
    2. Press [Menu] repeatedly until "MAINTENANCE" is displayed.
    3. Use the [Left cursor] button or [Right cursor] button to select .
      • Press [Set]. The machine prints a horizontal line pattern.
      • Check in column A on the printout which box has the most solid image and note the value next to this box.
      • select the noted value on the display by pressing the [Left cursor] button or [Right cursor] button.
      • Press [Set].
      • Repeat steps 5 and 6 for columns B to F.
  • Aligning the print head from the MultiPASS Suite

    Follow the procedure below to align the print head from the MultiPASS Suite software:

    1. Load letter- or A4-size plain paper in the multi-purpose tray.
    2. On the Windows desktop, click [Start], point to [Settings], and then click [Printers]. (Windows XP: Click [Start], and then click [Printers and Faxes]).
    3. In the [Printers] ([Printers and Faxes]) window, click the machine icon.
    4. From the [File] menu, click [Properties] or [Printing Preferences...].
    5. In the [Properties] dialog box, click the print head alignment icon on the [Maintenance tab].
    6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    7. In column A on the printout, check which box has the most solid image. Note the value next to this box, and then enter that number. Repeat this step for columns B to F.
    8. Click [OK].
