How can I install the InkJet Multifunctional driver and software for Windows Vista?

CD-ROM version 2.0 or later

If the version of the CD-ROM prepackaged with the product is 2.0 or later, install the drivers and software from it.

NOTE:
Before upgrading your computer's OS from Windows XP to Windows Vista, uninstall the already installed Canon software for XP first. Then, upgrade the OS to Windows Vista and install the software for Windows Vista. If you have already upgraded your computer's OS to Windows Vista before uninstalling the software for XP, pleaseclick hereto view the related information.

  1. Insert the CD-ROM provided with the product into the CD-ROM drive.

    (The illustration below shows the one for the MP500. The model name varies depending on the printer model.)

  2. The installation window will be displayed.

    When the CD-ROM is not launched automatically, select My Computer from the Start menu and then click the CD-ROM icon.

  4. The installation will start. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
     
  5. After the installation, be sure to confirm the latest Windows Vista support information for the following software (see the table below) and follow the instructions the manufacturer provides. Each manufacturer's website is listed in the table as well.

How to install the drivers and software using the CD-ROM Ver. 1.x

In case the version of your CD-ROM prepackaged with the machine is before 2.0, the MP Drivers and some application software can be downloaded from the Canon website to install them.
Regarding Photo Studio and Presto! PageManager, check the manufacturer's Windows Vista support information and then install the MP Drivers using the CD-ROM with the version before 2.0.

Note:
Before upgrading your computer's OS from Windows XP to Windows Vista, uninstall the already installed Canon software for XP first. Then, upgrade the OS to Windows Vista and install the software for Windows Vista. If you have already upgraded your computer's OS to Windows Vista before uninstalling the software for XP, pleaseclick hereto view the related information.

Procedure 1
Install MP Drivers, MP Navigator, Easy-PhotoPrint, and CD-LabelPrint.

Download the latest MP Drivers and the software to be used from the Canon website, then install them.

Install PhotoStudio and Presto!PageManager.
