FAQ: The [ ! ] icon appears when the shutter button is pressed halfway

Solution:


The () icon appears along with a yellow [AF frame] when the <Shutter Button> is pressed halfway and the subject is not in focus. (This is also the same when using the Touch Shutter function to focus with the PowerShot ELPH 530 HS, 320 HS / IXUS 510 HS, IXUS 240 HS.)
One of the main reasons for the subject to be out of focus is that the distance between the camera and the subject may be too close.
