FAQ: Why am I hearing a beep sound on my Speedlite EX flash while the red light is lit?

When your Speedlite EX flash is ready to fire, the pilot button will be red.
Every 3 seconds you will hear a beep sound that indicates that your flash is ready to fire.
So hearing this beep is normal.
