Canon’s ‘Office Olympian’ Guide
Research from Canon UK and ICM has shown that office workers spend an average of 5.5 hours per day sat at their desks. This equates to a staggering 1265 hours per year (34 five day working weeks). With two thirds of office workers saying they work beyond their contracted hours and 20% not taking any interest in their health whilst in the office, it is clear that more needs to be done to promote a healthy workplace and replace inactive office workers with ‘Office Olympians’. Canon’s guide is designed to provide simple yet practical tips for office workers to keep active and healthy whilst at work.

REIGATE, August 8th, 2008 – With a packed summer of sport in store, culminating in the Beijing Olympics this month, you’d expect many office workers to be inspired by their sporting heroes and motivated to get fit and healthy. However, research from Canon UK, world-leader in office imaging solutions, in fact shows the complete opposite – Britain still has an inactive and workaholic office culture. The recent study revealed that the average office worker spends five and a half hours sat at their desk during the working day – the equivalent of a staggering 34 working weeks per year* (74% of each working day).

Office workers are animals when it comes to the colour printer
REIGATE, May 13, 2008 – Are you like a Parrot and need colour in everything regardless of cost? Or are you a Cheetah and need everything at speed? Or perhaps you are a Panda or Polar Bear and are happy with everything in black and white? Leading behavioural psychologist, broadcaster and journalist, Donna Dawson, says that office printing habits are the best way to examine the dynamics of the modern workplace, where people’s behaviour can be equated to The Human Zoo. The research, commissioned by Canon, a world leader in digital imaging technology, revealed some interesting characteristics when office workers prepare to hit the print button, specifically when it comes to their use of colour.
