Canon Concerto Dubai, 21st November 2007 – Canon UK, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced that the UK’s leading learning disability charity, Mencap, has become the 1,000th customer across Europe to benefit from its document management software, ADOS 6.1. The software will help Mencap to manage the huge volume of documents it receives – on average 400,000 documents need to be processed every year – by automatically routing them along set workflows.

Canon Concerto Dubai, 21st November 2007 – Canon UK, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced that the UK’s leading learning disability charity, Mencap, has become the 1,000th customer across Europe to benefit from its document management software, ADOS 6.1.  The software will help Mencap to manage the huge volume of documents it receives – on average 400,000 documents need to be processed every year – by automatically routing them along set workflows. 

The implementation of ADOS 6.1 will begin in Mencap’s mailroom – documents received in the post will be scanned and the electronic image will route around the organisation collecting authorisations and comments within specified timeframes. 

The installation includes 70 users at its new Shared Service Centre in Peterborough, three Capture Clients (scanning software), a Workflow module for defining workflow processes and a COLD Module (intelligent storage).  Mencap is currently building 50 different workflows to enable documents to be passed around the organisation electronically, reducing the time it takes for post to be sorted and distributed.

ADOS is a scalable product which enables organisations of any size to capture, archive, search and retrieve information quickly and securely, reducing the time spent searching for and processing documents.  ADOS can improve efficiency through a range of powerful features by streamlining paper-intensive business processes to create simple workflows (such as invoicing, expense claims, HR & legal documents and many more).

Canon and ADOS have worked in partnership since 1999 and signed a pan-European sole partnership deal in 2005.
