REIGATE, December 19, 2007 – Canon UK, leader in digital imaging technology, has today announced the appointment of Matthew Searle as Director of the Canon Partner Channel for Canon Business Solutions, Canon UK Ltd. Within his new role, Searle will head up a Channel team of 100 people, including Sales, Service and Support functions. Searle will be based at Woodhatch, Canon UK’s headquarters in Reigate, Surrey.

Searle will primarily be responsible for sales of Canon Business Solutions products and services through Accredited Partners, which currently accounts for 50% of all unit sales for Canon Business Solutions, UK. 

The focus for Searle and his team in 2008 will be on continuing development and growth of the Canon Partner Channel and strengthening the proposition to ensure Canon remains the partner of choice.
 
Searle has worked at Canon for over 14 years with various roles including managing Marketing Communications and New Media Development in Canon Europe. He has also led various company re-structuring programmes and more recently he has established and developed the distribution route to market for the Canon Partner Channel.

Searle takes over from Geoff Slaughter following his decision to leave Canon. Matthew comments: “Although Geoff will be missed, I look forward to building on his work in conjunction with the rest of the Canon team as we continue to focus on growing both our Partners’ business and Canon’s.”
 
Matthew is a keen supporter of AFC Wimbledon and in his spare time enjoys travel, food, wine and motorsports.
