ChromaLife100 > Gas Fastness

Up to 10 years gas fastness

Not all photographs will be framed or stored in albums. Many photos are displayed in places like notice boards and refrigerators.
These photographs are exposed to the atmospheric gases in the air that cause the fading of your photographs.

But even when not stored in a photo album or displayed in a glass frame, your ChromaLife100 photos will last up to 10 years without fading.

Tested using three types of gases

Some colour scientists test using an ozone-only test environment. However, the real-world atmosphere contains a mix of gases that can cause colour fading:
- Ozone (O3),
- Nitrogen oxide (NOx)
- Sulphur oxide (SOx)

That’s why Canon tests use a more realistic mixed-gas test environment.
