With a 5.0 Megapixel CCD, the PowerShot S50 delivers superbly detailed images and allows crisp, high resolution printing even up to A3. The quality Canon 3x optical zoom lens captures sharp images. Canon’s unique, and pupose designed DIGIC processor offers superb performance by working at high speeds to extract the maximum amount of information from images to give beautiful colour reproduction, fast continuous shooting and long battery life.
Supremely functional, the camera has 13 shooting modes to cover every conceivable photographic situation and offer maximum control. A large LCD enables easy menu navigation and image preview. Switching between modes is effortless, while well-thought-out ergonomics put shooting controls at your fingertips. Compact and pocketable, the camera has an all-aluminium body and can easily be operated one-handed.
Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space (iSAPS) analyses every composition based on such things as zoom position and brightness. This allows faster auto-focusing, accurate auto-exposure and precise auto white balancing. 9-point AiAF lets you select from nine focus points so that off-centre subjects can be rendered in sharp focus. FlexiZone AF/AE allows you to move the AF/AE metering frame freely within the viewfinder, providing more options for optimum focus and exposure for your subject or more creative photographic results.
With Canon Direct Print you can connect direct to a printer and print — there’s no PC required. The PowerShot S50 is compatible with a full range of Canon Direct Printers.
An optional waterproof case makes the PowerShot S50 fully operational even 30 metres under the sea.
A completely integrated software suite enhances post-shooting opportunities. You can download, file and organise your photographs on a PC or Macintosh using ZoomBrowser EX (Windows) or ImageBrowser (Macintosh).
