High Image Quality
The PowerShot G3 is equipped with a compact and fast 4x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 7.2 to 28.8mm (35-140mm equivalent in 35mm format) and a fast maximum aperture range of f2.0 (W) to f3.0 (T). The ultra fast optical zoom lens gives perfect close-ups and the unique DIGIC processor gives even better colour reproduction. With Histogram Playback and High Precision White Balance, you can be sure of stunning results.
RAW mode
RAW mode allows you to obtain original image data, recording the image direct from the CCD without any image processing. With RAW mode images, you can alter and set the parameters of image before being saved or transferred to the PC.

- FlexiZone AF/AE - The PowerShot G3 has 345 scrollable auto focus points, which can be individually selected when in P, Av, Tv, M or C modes.

The perfect exposure mode can be selected using Centre weighted average, Evaluative, or Spot.
12 EOS-based picture-taking modes
These include two NEW custom modes, manual, Av, TV, Program, Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Stitch Assist and Movie mode.
Continuous Shooting Modes
The ‘speed priority’ mode is ideal for shooting a number of top quality shots at high speed, perfect for action pictures. For a larger number of shots at a slower speed, the PowerShot G3 offers the alternative ‘quantity priority’ mode.
Neutral Density Filter
In bright conditions where a slow shutter speed is required, the innovative Neutral Density Filter reduces the amount of light reaching the sensor without affecting the colour balance.
Intelligent Orientation Sensor
A new tiny sensor has been built-in to detect the orientation of the camera. A small camera icon shown in the shooting window indicates whether you are in Portrait or Landscape mode.
Movie Recording and Playback
Improvements to the movie mode mean that the recording times have increased and the image quality in the VGA mode has also improved. Recording times will depend on the speed (and capacity) of the CF card used in the camera.
Direct Print
The PowerShot G3 is compatible with Canon’s full range of Direct Print printers. Simply connect the camera to the printer, select an image and in a few moments a perfect print is made.
