Several pre-programmed modes Ergonomically designed and perfectly balanced, the EOS 30 is a lesson in how cameras ought to be. It features a large selection of pre-programmed modes built into the camera, seven-point area automatic focus, eye control, 35-zone evaluative metering, a full specification viewfinder, and multiple exposure modes. It also has 13 custom functions derived from the professional photographers’ most used settings. Each control button is exactly where you want it to be, so shooting with the EOS 30 is virtually instinctive.
Unique eye control The camera’s 35 evaluative metering zones work in conjunction with the seven focusing points in what Canon calls AIM, or advanced integrated multipoint control. The metering follows the focusing so the subject is always correctly exposed in daylight or with a flash, even if it is not in the centre of the frame. Focusing can be manual, automatic or through Canon’s unique eye control system, an amazing feature by which the camera focuses on what you’re looking at by following the movements of your eye. Flash metering is linked to the system too, giving optimum exposure indoors and out.
Compact and ergonomic The compact size of the EOS 30 makes it easy to hold and use. Selection keys on the quick control dial let the use quickly choose from the seven focusing points, while the top cover has three dials that act as the user interface.
Low noise The virtually noiseless film transport of the EOS 30 is combined with an ultra sonic motor lens, which also offers very low noise levels. You get unrivalled focusing speeds and a virtually silent operating system.
