Canon's new Unique Hologram - all the assurance you need that it's Genuine.

Canon has introduced a new, sophisticated "Unique Hologram" for "Genuine" toner packages.  The strongest possible protection we can offer our customers against the illegal trade of counterfeit products. 

Quite simply, if it does not have the Canon Genuine hologram, it isn't Canon. 

The new Canon Hologram is a highly sophisticated device for distinguishing authentic Canon consumables packaging from counterfeits. 

If any of the selected toner products listed below do not have the unique hologram, they are not Canon Genuine.  The new unique hologram replaces the existing hologram, production of which started Janurary 2004.

The most visible differences between Canon's new hologram and the existing one are the size and label colour.

The existing hologram is silver, while the new unique hologram is much smaller and is gold when viewed face-on.  However when tilted the colour should change to blue-green, as you can see above.  If there is no change in colour then it is not Canon Genuine.  It canot be removed without causing visible damage to the packaging.
