Freecording is many things; freedom, playfulness and ingenuity. Above all, it is finding unique ways to film the world around you. Try new angles, new props, new perspectives - Freecording is all about experimentation and turning an artistic yet playful eye upon your life. Freecording can be action, invention, or simply your personal point of view.

Freecording came about as a result of people wishing to experiment with their camcorders, pushing their own limits and learning new tricks simply by trying them out. Canon hopes to help inspire you, the Freecorder, to explore the possibilities of your HD video recorder: Think outside the box; try something new; be bold.

If there is a technique or a new way of filming that you think will result in an inspired and interesting clip – try it out! The clips last a maximum of 90 seconds – so tell your story in as original a way as possible!
