Q: How will I know if my claim is delayed due to incorrect or missing information?

A: Upon having successfully registered online for a Canon promotion, you will be sent by email a confirmation of your application containing both your reference number and personalised log-in details for a website on which you can check the status of your claim. In the event that you have registered any incorrect information, this will reflect on that site and you will also be sent an email informing you of the information still required. The quickest way for to provide us with any missing information is by logging in to that website and updating your details.


Q: What formats can be used for uploading documents as part of the registration process and are there any size restrictions?

A: Please note! Your file should not be larger than 4 MB. You can only upload JPG, TIF and PDF.

Q: I have ordered a Canon product within the dates specified for the promotion but it will not arrive / be delivered by the retailer until after the valid promotional dates have passed – can I still apply for this promotion?

A: Please keep the order confirmation you have (which will be in the promotional dates) and send together with your Invoice when you fill in the application. There is a grace period of one month, after the last purchase date allowed, so you would be able to supply your documents.


Q: I was unaware of this promotion and I purchased a product a few weeks before / after the specified promotion dates. Can Canon make an exception and authorise a promotional gift for my purchase?

A: We apologise that you have had this experience; however you can apply for the promotion only if your product is purchased within the dates stipulated in the Terms and Conditions.


Q: What transactions/products are excluded from this promotion?

A: Exclusions are detailed in the Terms and Conditions. In summary, the exclusions include the following:
1. Non-promotional products see HERE for a full list of promotional products
2. Product purchased outside the promotional period or outside of promotional territory
3. Second-hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group of companies in anyway (for example, including but not limited to parallel or “grey” products)


Q: On the on-line claim form, what do you mean by ‘payment option’?

A: This refers to how you originally purchased the product.



Q: Where is the product serial number?

A: To locate the serial number VISIT THE LINK Where to find serial number HERE and it will show you where it is for your product[s]. Please DO NOT confuse the serial number with the EAN/Barcode. The photo below represents the EAN/Barcode, which usually resides on the side of the product box, this is NOT the product serial number that you are required to submit to validate your claim. The serial number is located on the body of the product itself, to help you find your serial number please consult our guide here.




Q: Why can’t I log onto the website with my tracking code?

A: Please note the login is case sensitive so please ensure you type it in exactly (with upper/lower case).

For the following issues when trying to register on-line:
- I’ve been trying to register for some time and it won’t let me
- I keep getting a ‘not authorised’ message
- I’ve tried resubmitting the form but it won’t work.
In MOST instances this is down to the device you are trying to access the website from i.e. a mobile/smart phone, apple mac, other device etc. it’s not a fault with the website. You will need to consult the manufacturer of the product you are using for advice in these instances. Q: What are the different levels of Warranty Services?

A:
Return To Base:
If a product develops a manufacturing fault during the warranty period then it must be returned to a Canon approved repair facility where it will be repaired free of charge by Canon authorised technicians. Your product will be returned to you when the repair is complete.


Onsite:
If an eligible product develops a manufacturing fault during the warranty period then On-Site Warranty service will be provided in one of the following ways:


  • On-Site Repair (via technician)
  • On-Site Exchange (via courier)

Q: How do I claim my Promotional Warranty Services?

A: Once your claim is validated, if you need to obtain extended and/or upgraded warranty services provided via this promotion, please contact your local Canon Support Helpdesk and be ready to:


a.    Provide the full device/printer model name and serial number*;
b.    Confirm the Operating system installed on your computer – if applicable ;
c.    Confirm your contact details, address of the device/printer and your E-mail address;
d.    Provide proof of product purchase & activated promotional warranty, as per the email confirmation sent to you following online warranty registration(s);
e.    Provide a clear fault description and carry out any diagnostics as advised;
f.    Comply with any reasonable instructions from the Helpdesk to allow you to receive the warranty service.

3 YEAR WARRANTY PROMOTION

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

        Promotion & Promoter

1.    The Promoter is Canon Europa N.V., registered at Bovenkerkerweg 59, 1185 XB, Amstelveen, The Netherlands (hereinafter referred to as “Canon”).

2.    For the selected Canon Products (“Promotional Products”) detailed below, this 3 Year Warranty Promotion (“Promotional Warranty”) offers either:

        o    A two year extension to the applicable one-year Canon commercial warranty - European Warranty System (“EWS”); or

        o    A service upgrade and two year extension to the applicable EWS.

3.    Except as explicitly amended herein (by extension and/or upgrade), the applicable EWS terms shall apply to warranty services provided under this Promotional Warranty. In the event of any conflict between the terms of the services provided under this Promotional Warranty and those of the EWS, the terms of this Promotional Warranty shall prevail.

        Promotional Period

4.    Promotional Products must be purchased within the Promotional Territory (defined below) between 1st March 2016 and 31st March 2017. The date of product purchase must be confirmed by a valid proof of purchase. Please note that products must be registered within 30 days of purchase.

5.    The Promotional Products must be purchased in and registered to an address within one of the following Promotional Territories: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Canon may include into this Promotion new models of the Products listed in this clause when they are released in the course of the Promotion. The end-date of this Promotion for the newly added products will stay as established in the clause 4 of these Ts and Cs.

7.    Promotional Products must be new and genuine Canon products and must have been supplied and distributed to retailers by Canon group companies located in the European Economic Area or Switzerland (EEA). Please, check with your retailer that this is the case to avoid disappointment. Purchases of second hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group of companies in any way (including but not limited to parallel or “grey” products) will not qualify under this promotion. 8.    Promotional Products must be registered within 30 days of purchase to be eligible under this Promotion. To register your product, please submit your claim in accordance with the instructions below.

9.    This offer is available to end users only. Claims by businesses or individuals who make bulk purchases (being more than 10 Promotional Products during the Promotional Period) will not be eligible to enter this Promotion.

Distributors and retailers are excluded from the promotion and are not eligible to claim on behalf of their customers.

10.    All Claimants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

        How to register your product and claim your Promotional Warranty

11.    All Claimants must be aged 18 or over. By making a claim under this promotion and registering your product, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are not 18 and/or do not wish to be bound by the terms of this Promotion, please do not claim your Promotional Warranty.

12.    To claim your Promotional Warranty, correctly complete and submit an online claim form registering your product (including specifying valid product serial number(s)*) here within thirty days of product purchase. Claims received after 30 days of purchase of your product will not be accepted by Canon. Claimants will need to scan, upload and attach to the online claim form a valid proof of purchase (e.g. a copy of their till receipt or online order and payment confirmation). Please note that proof of dispatch will not be accepted as valid proof of purchase.

13.    On validation of the claim, Claimants will receive an email confirmation that their claim has been accepted and their product registered. If you do not receive such email confirmation within 8 working days of submitting your claim, or do not have access to a computer, please contact our Claim Hotline on +44 (0) 207 660 0186. Please ensure you keep your email confirmation safe as it may be required as proof of your valid claim in the event you wish to obtain warranty services.

14.    Canon reserves the right to invalidate any incomplete, incorrect or unsubstantiated claim.

        Disclaimers

15.    To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any Claimant under this promotion. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon’s liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of Canon’s employees or agents.

16.    Canon reserves the right to audit any claims to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and to request additional information and supporting documents. Canon reserves the right to exclude claims and/or Claimants if it suspects that the promotion is being abused in any way. Canon’s decisions in relation to the promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

17.    The Promotional Products are subject to availability while stocks last. Canon will not be liable for the failure of retailers to fulfill orders of Promotional Products during the Promotional Period.

18.    Canon reserves the right to void, amend, and/or change this promotion at any time without incurring any liability whatsoever but will always endeavor to minimize the effect to the Claimant in order to avoid undue disappointment.

        Personal Data Protection

19.    Canon Europa N.V. and Canon Europe Limited registered in United Kingdom under a registration number 4093977 having a place of business at 3 The Square, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1ET, United Kingdom are the Data Controllers for the purposes of applicable personal data protection laws and regulations in respect of personal data supplied by any Claimants in relation to this promotion. The control and processing of personal data, whether by Canon or any of its authorized third parties, is strictly in accordance with necessary data privacy laws and regulations. Personal Data will only be stored and processed by Canon or its authorized third parties for the purposes of administering this Promotion and the Promotional Warranty services unless otherwise agreed. If Claimants do not wish to have their contact information used for marketing purposes or to enable Canon to contact them in future regarding similar promotions, they should NOT check the relevant “opt-in” box when completing the claim form.

21.    Nothing contained herein shall restrict any rights you may have as a consumer.

22.    To the extent permitted by law, this promotion, these terms and conditions and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

23.    As a consumer, you may be entitled to bring court proceedings in your own language and in your local courts. A local consumer advice organization will be able to advise you of your rights. These Terms and Conditions do not restrict any statutory rights that may be applicable.
