Dobermann

Information

This noble looking breed of dog was developed by Louis Dobermann in Germany around 1890. Dobermann was a tax collector who had to carry money throughout unsafe areas of the city, and he wanted a dog for self protection. He set out to breed a dog with the perfect blend of strength, loyalty, intelligence … and aggression. Today they are still used as guard or police dogs, but well-trained Dobermanns are also considered excellent family pets.
