Emperor Penguin

Emperor Penguin

Information

Emperor Penguins are the largest penguin in the world, growing to approximately 100–130 cm tall. They breed on ice layers in Antarctica: females lay one egg in May, then head to the ocean searching for food. The male cares for the egg, carrying it on top of its feet and under its belly to protect it from the cold. The female returns two months later to feed the chick when the egg hatches.
