Shuri Castle

Shuri Castle

Information:

No-one knows when Shuri Castle was built (some say the 14th century, others say a bit later) but it is one of the most beautiful castles in the world. It was home to King Sho Hashi of the Ryukyu Islands in the 14th/15th century, and was built from natural stones from the region. Most of the castle was destroyed during WW2, but it has now been restored to its former glory.
