Arc de Triomphe

Information

In the centre of Paris is one of France’s most famous buildings: the Arc de Triomphe. Built in Paris's Place de l'Etoile, to commemorate Napoleon's military victories, work on the archway began in 1806 and was completed in 1836. The walls of the arch are decorated with intricate sculpture and relief carvings depicting the more famous battles of Napoleon's armies.
