Neuschwanstein Castle

Information

This fairytale castle, built on a sheer rock outcrop in the style of a medieval castle, was paid for by the Bavarian King, Ludwig II. A highly artistic man, Ludwig poured much of his resources into the construction of castles and to supporting opera. It is believed that Neuschwanstein Castle actually provided Wagner with a lot of his inspiration when composing his music!
