Eiffel Tower

Information

A landmark in engineering at the time it was built, Paris’s Eiffel Tower remains a landmark for the city today. Created and named after designer, Gustave Eiffel, it was built between 1887 to 1889 to celebrate the International Exhibition held in Paris and the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Originally, 300 meters (984 feet) tall, it stands as a magnificent monument to the opening of the steel age.
