One of the best-loved and well known dinosaurs, the Stegosaurus was also one of the most heavily protected. It had large, flat, triangular plates positioned along its back, to help keep it cool, and a heavy, spiked tail, which was used to ward away predators. With longer back legs, the Stegosaurus was always pointing downwards, perfect for foraging for its favourite plants.
