A perfect tool for aspiring Spielbergs: Canon’s new Canon Digital Video Camcorder HV30

HV30
Last year’s best selling Canon HV20 set a new quality standard for low-budget filmmakers and creatives across Europe. Now, the HV30 offers even more.

United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 07 January, 2008: The HV30 delivers stunning HD image quality that belies its compact form – comparing favourably with many professional models. Recording HDV1080i images directly to standard MiniDV tapes, the HV30 makes it easy for anyone to get started with HD: MiniDV tapes are cheap and widely available, while the HDV format is supported by most software editing packages.

The HV30’s controls are fluid and intuitive, allowing first-time users to obtain impressive results from the outset. Canon’s HD Camera System ensures pristine, pin-sharp images with superb colour accuracy, while a new Multiangle Vivid LCD screen boasts an exceptional 135-degree angle of view – making it easier to frame shots and share playback with cast and crew.

The camcorder’s 25p Cinema Mode gives footage a truly filmic look and feel. It combines true 25p (progressive) shooting with a special CINE image mode, based on settings used by Canon’s professional XH series models. As well as the ‘cine’ feel, progressive shooting provides better low-light performance – great for atmospheric shots.

Availability

The Canon HV30 will be available from February 2008.
