Amstelveen, The Netherlands, 06 January, 2007: Canon today launches the Canon Digital Camcorder MD160, MD150 and MD130, three widescreen-ready MiniDV camcorders with 35x optical zoom lenses – currently the highest magnification factor offered by any consumer model.1 With additional photo functionality, the new models also include an Easy shooting mode, quick and intuitive operation of all key controls via a Joystick controller and Canon’s new Quick Start button, designed to allow users to start shooting almost instantly.

“Canon’s new camcorders continue to set the standard in the MiniDV sector and now feature the market’s most powerful optical zoom lens as standard,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. “With the introduction of the MD series, incorporating even more user-friendly features, we offer every consumer easy access to powerful home moviemaking.”
