Canon’s Super-Toric flatbed scanner lens system |
|
The superior performance of the CanoScan 9950F is in large part due to Canon’s new Super Toric Lens. This new lens – actually a telephoto lens array – is composed of a group of six original Canon lenses. The arrangement is similar to that found in high
performance SLR cameras, although significantly more compact. This special lens contains an aspherical element to ensure minimal aberration on the periphery, delivering pin-sharp scans from edge-to-edge as well as a highly efficient light path to ensure
bright, low noise images. This edge-to-edge performance allows for the unprecedented size of the CanoScan 9950F FAU. Canon was the first manufacturer to bring this technology to SLR camera lenses and now brings features on our flagship desktop flatbed.
