- The Canon imageFORMULA DR-2010M and DR-2510M mark the introduction of Canon’s first Mac-compatible business scanning devices
- Canon’s latest document scanners address fast-growing Mac use in creative industries and general business markets
Canon customers using Mac computers can now benefit from the same professional scanning technology available for Windows devices. The DR-2010M and DR-2510M mirror the same compact design, ease-of-use and reliable scanning properties of the ever-popular DR-2010C and DR-2510C Windows version Canon scanners.
Trevor Dodsworth, Head of Product Marketing, Canon Business Solutions, Canon UK says, “Canon continually looks to develop its portfolio of scanners through innovative features and technologies. We knew that the DR-2010C and DR-2510C Windows devices were both popular for their design and functionality and would thrive in a Mac environment.
“Gartner has recently predicted that Apple will double its market share of computers in North America and Western Europe between 2008 to 2011*. As Mac technology is becoming more widely used in the general business segments, away from its traditional home in the graphic design, architecture and media markets, it will become a key growth area for Canon over the coming years. The DR-2010M and DR-2510M marks our first step into the Mac business environment and we will continue to develop compatible products in the future as demand further increases.”
The DR-2010M and DR-2510M are both high speed document scanners boasting an output rate of colour scans at 20ppm and 25ppm respectively. Users within the SoHo market will find the DR-2010M appropriate for simple ad-hoc scanning, whilst the DR-2510M is suitable for the general office market for more robust, specific scanning tasks.
The two scanners are compact in design and differ only from the Windows models in their sleek black design and integrated software. The bundle includes Canon’s new CaptureOnTouch software designed for quick and easy scanning, Presto! PageManager, a useful file management tool, and Presto! BizCard that converts and manages business contact details.
The DR-2010M and DR-2510M will also be supplied with Windows ISIS and TWAIN drivers and a Windows version of CaptureOnTouch so they can also easily be used on Windows operating systems, adding further versatility to these models.
The Canon imageFORMULA DR-2010M and DR-2510M are available across Europe from 1st September 2009.
